Overview:A small private museum, in which is exposed the best works of the late painter and sculptor Alcibiades Skoulas. In his old age, he began to paint the memories of his life. In a naive and simple style, his paintings tell stories of the end of the Turkish occupation time in Crete, people’s daily life, and of the dreadful events of World War II. By the end of his life, he created a frugal museum literally around his artistic work. The museum allocates an open familial atmosphere, that allows the visitor a very personal access to the exhibits. The entry to the museum is free but is appreciated when the visitors leave little donations, which allows maintaining the museum. |
